Eligibility : Open to legal residents of the 50 United States and the District of Columbia who are 21 years or older at time of entry (“Entrant(s)”); who are legal owners of the home that they have based their essay on; and who have all requisite and up-to-date home insurance policies in place. Void where prohibited by law.
Promotion Period : The Top to Bottom Innovation Contest begins at 12:01 A.M. EST on AUGUST 17, 2009 and ends at 11:59 P.M. EST on OCTOBER 2, 2009.

Limit : You may submit multiple entries provided that each essay refers to a unique home improvement/maintenance/repair situation.
Prize (s):
One Winner will be selected for an on-camera “House Call” by the ASK THIS OLD HOUSE television show. The ASK THIS OLD HOUSE television crew will provide the materials and labor (not to exceed $5,000 ARV) needed to solve the specific home improvement/repair/maintenance problem as submitted in Entrant’s winning essay. Winner must agree to work alongside the ASK THIS OLD HOUSE television crew and be filmed for the television show; filming to take place in November 2009. Segment to air in Spring 2010. (Approximate Retail Value: $5,000.00).
Five (5) runners-up will receive a Stanley FatMax® Xtreme™ Truck Box including $750 worth of Stanley Tools (Approximate Retail Value: $1,000.00).
