Built for an exciting ride just like the Original, the Rockboard Scooter Mini is a scaled down version made specifically for younger kids weighing up to 90 lbs. Rockboard Scooters offer the versatility of a propel-action scooter with the practicality of a kick model. The genius of the scooter is the advanced Rockboard Propulsion Technology™, a human-powered mechanism that enables kids of all ages to tear up the pavement without the assistance of an electric or gasoline-powered motor. The innovative hybrid scooter combines the drive-chain propulsion of a bicycle with the practicality of a kick-scooter, which can also be folded up for easy storage and transportation, so kids can take their ride anywhere. The Rockboard Scooters are built to last, with an ultra-strong steel box frame and front fork, die-cast aluminum deck, and a rear spring-enhanced suspension creates the smoothest ride even on unforgiving surfaces.

Rockboard Scooter Review :  Are you a fan of kick scooters ? I was not until Rockboard sent me a Rockboard Scooter to test. However, the Rockboard Scooter is not an ordinary scooter. Let’s find out why !

The Rockboard Scooter comes fully assembled and is folded to a compact size.
The fact that it can be folded is great for storage purpose.

Unfolding it to get rockin’ can be done in no time. Of course, you’ll have to follow the instructions from the owner’s manual the first time you try it but once you know how to do it, it’s very easy.

Once unfolded, you will notice that the Rockboard Scooter is unlike any other scooter on two wheels.

The biggest difference between the Rockboard Scooter and all others is the fact that the Rockboard is actually 2 scooters in 1!

Rockboarding Mode
The Rockboard Scooter features an advanced Rockboard Propulsion Technology which includes a steel power drive chain that allows you to shred the pavement in Rockboarding mode.

Low-profile kick scooter machine
In just a few steps, you can turn the Rockboard into a low-profile kick scooter for a more casual ride.

Among the other features, you get :
– Front brake lever with adjustment / rear band brake
– 200mm urethane wheels with rigid nylon spokes
– Spring-enhanced die cast aluminum rear trailing arm
– Adjustable Handlebar Height : 36 in. — 46.5 in.
– Soft comfort grips
– Two-finger aluminum alloy brake lever with adjustment
– Non-slip textured rockboard deck
And more !

Rockboard scooter does seem to be built to last. Thanks to an ultra-strong steel box frame & front fork / die cast alu. deck. Unfortunately, this ultra-strong steel box frame is heavy with a curb weight of 20.8 lbs. (9.4 kg).

The Rockboard scooter costs around $199.99 which is kind of expensive compared to other scooters but those other scooters don’t have to the unique “Rockboarding” mode.

Package contains the Rockboard scooter, the owner’s manual, two small tools and a DVD (video showing you how to get started).

Recommended for ages 8 and up and handles up to 200 lbs.

Riding the Rockboard scooter in both modes (rock it / kick it) is fun ! I only spent a few hours riding it but I can already say that my favorite mode it the Rockboarding mode. That’s something you won’t find anywhere else. Now, I can’t wait for the summer season to be able to ride it for hours !

Pros
+ Fun, fun, fun !
+ 2 different scooters in 1 (rock it or kick it)
+ Can be folded to a compact size for storage

Cons
– Heavy (20.8 lbs.)

Winner : We will pick 1 lucky person and announce the winner here on or around Friday, April 13, 2012.

I would like to win this awesome Rockboard Scooter for my granddaughter, Chloe. She does not have a scooter of any kind and this looks so cool for her to use and play with. She is an outdoorsy girl and would be thrilled to get this great prize. Thanks!
