We really need a kitchen makeover; $25,000 would do an extremely fantastic job. How do we enter the sweepstakes? Dream Home Transformation….

Sep 14, 2011 11:26

My husband bought our home 20 years ago. It has never been updated until two years ago I painted and changed all the hardware on the cabinets and now they won’t close. The counter top does not meet the wall. I don’t have a dishwasher my space is to small. Dining is also in kitchen. So no room for an island. I entertain a lot for my kids and grandchildren for the holidays and birthdays. It would be nice to have better space to so this. I love my kids and grandchildren and want things to be better.

I am 71 years old and my husband is 80.. We are grateful that we have a lovely home and yard. The kitchen needs new appoliances for every appliance in our kitchen needs to be replaced because they are old and broken in one way or another. Bless their sweet heart for they still all work. The oven door is broken so we must be losing heat. The dish washer door is broken too yet it closes properly.. The refrigerator door has no handles anymore and a lot of the drawers are cracked and broken inside. I would love a gas stove. There is an electric stove that works sometimes. I believe this prize money would cover it all.

We have a wonderful sunroom off of our living room, however, it is more of a storage room than a sun room! It needs new windows, finished walls and the fireplace put in to make it useful! With that room complete, all spaces in our home would be able to be lived in!

BHG is the only magazine that I subscribe to that has not shrunk down in size. It still is the great magazine that it has always been. Full of great ideas and great decorating tips. Keep up the good work and thanks again. I just moved from a large home into a small one and am finding it hard to adjust. Would love to renovate the kitchen to be able to fit my extended family during the holidays.

My husband and I would love to have a $25,000 makeover in our 1970′s kitchen! We both love to cook and the appliances being as old as we are or older makes cooking a challenge. With a new baby it would be more than wonderful to be able to cook in a functional kitchen!

We have been working on our kitchen on and off for 4 years and just can’t seem to get it right. We even had a new counter top professionally installed which turned out to be a big mess and the contractor wouldn’t give us our money back or fix what he messed up. So we’re here with no back splash, a countertop that has created a hole in my wall and a pull out cutting board that my husband had to “fix” on his own because when we pulled it out, it would fall to the floor! We have 1/2 chair rail that isn’t finished, a threshold that isn’t completed. I would, of course, love to win this dream room make over! We weren’t even looking to replace our current cabinets, but rather add an updated look to them. I look at my Better Homes and Garden regularly for decorating ideas, recipes, organizing ideas, etc.

My husband and I live in a quaint mountain town; breathtaking views from every window. We have built an addition for our new kitchen and plan to use the existing kitchen for a formal dinning room including a built in buffet with a sink, water is already there. The room for our new kitchen is 14′ wide by 24′ 11″ long. I would like to have a custome wood hood over a gas cook top. We have plans for bench seeting for an eat in area. I have purchased a fridge, dishwasher, and double ovens. I would like a gas cook top, beautiful sink, cabinets and counter top. This project has been on hold for awhile. It would be a joyful dream come true and we would be extremely grateful to win the sweepstakes to complete this project!

Well actually I really need the whole house madeover but since $25,000 dream makeover is for only one room I would love to get my kitchen done. I work too much so I don’t have much time to fix my kitchen. I would be very grateful if I were to win this dream contest because my kitchen is the most important part of my house. Love BHandG ! Would love to have a makeover for our kitchen – have been thinking about a farm sink for many years.

Oct 4, 2011 13:06

I would spent the money redoing my kitchen because whoever build the kitchen I guess did not know what floor jacks was because they didn’t use them so my floor is falling in to the ground. So I would love to have a level kitchen floor with no broken tiles and If by chance I have a little bit of money left I would buy a dish washer so I can spent more time with my kids .

I love your magazine and the makeovers always make me dream of what I could do with my kitchen!!!!! I can almost see the plywood through the flooring, the countertops are faded……and everything is just crowded. I’d love to expand the kitchen into my dining room, which is never used. Of course I can’t do this on my own, being unemployed along with the rest of us I guess!!!!!!

I really need this $25,000 home makeover, sending three children to college we have not been able to
to make repair on our home for twenty years. About twenty -three years ago we had a company make repairs in the family room – the repair was incomplete. Today we will have to replace two sides of the foundation due to cracks from water pressure. I would truly like to see the family room make over to have more family time with the family!

My husband has a 3+ car garage decorated to the hilt. Satellite, bar, full bath, taning bed, pool table, etc. I bought this house in 1990 and then moved away for 10 years when I remarried. Upon returning he built this man cave and I would love to have my kitchen modernized. He is retired, I still work 40+ hours weekly. I will be 59 this year adn have always dreamed of having a new kitchen. My first home was a mobile home, then a double wide and now my home is beautiful I think, but the cabinets are home made. I would love a beautiful kitchen. Thanks

Always enjoyed getting your magazine in the mail, as far as winning 25,000 for a transformation. My first thought was boy could we use a second bathroom in our house. Waiting your turn to use the bathroom gets tricky in the morning rush and a little embarrassing when company is over and I see a lone form down my foyer. Lol.. thanks for the contest !

I currently am having to fix a leaky window in my kitchen/familyroom before the rainy season starts here. I am a single parent with a student in grad school, which limits what I can do on my own. So a remake of my family room would aid me tremendously. I so enjoy BHG magazine and have subscribed to it for many years. One of your summer issues featured a beach house my family once owned. What a surprise that was to see and a good read.

I would LOVE to win the BHG 25,000 dream sweepstakes! I am on disability from a brain aneurysm suffered in 1992. I work a part time job and on a fixed income. The doctors said I was not supposed to have survieved the brain aneurysm and surgery but by the grace of God I did. I am a survivor! At the time my only child was 4 years old and I am a single parent with no help from his father. I did what I had to do and have raised him alone. In 1999 I was blessed again with a Habitat for Humanity Home. I fell off my porch and broke my knee and have undergone 5 surgeries on that leg since then. My home is in need of repairs and alot of organinzation. My house is small but I have a full basement that I would love to finish and use. I have a granddaughter now and the house is just too small but with the basement finished it would be like having a new home all over again. I do not have the money for the repairs much less finishing my basement. I would be SO APPRECIATIVE and BLESSED once again if I was able to win this blessing. I live from month to month and only a MIRACLE can help me obtain this dream. I have entered the application form but it will not let me send it! Dont know what else to do but send this email. PLEASE CONSIDER ME FOR THIS BLESSING! Thank you! SURVIVIOR!
